How a baseball game plays
MLB games appear in the app’s Discover tab during the baseball season. Join one, then wait for the lineups: you can’t draft until both clubs post their batting orders, usually one to four hours before first pitch. The app shows “Waiting on the lineups” until they do, then swaps in the draft.
Draft six players and confirm. A pregame set of Challenges is waiting, headed by “Who Will Win?”. From first pitch, questions arrive as the game moves: a quick “what does this batter do?”, an inning question every inning, and Big Moments when the bases fill up late. After the final out, everything settles and the standings go final.
Your roster: one pitcher, five hitters
- Exactly six players: one starting pitcher and five batters, from either club or both.
- Only announced starters. The pool is the two starting pitchers and the two posted batting orders. Bench players aren’t in the draft.
- The pitcher is free. Every starting pitcher costs 0, so you pick your ace on merit.
- 100 to spend on five batters. Prices run from 5 to 35 based on season-long numbers. The five best bats won’t fit, so you trade down a slot or two.
- Swaps are free before first pitch. After that, a switchout penalty means a new player only counts from the moment he joins your roster. A scratched pitcher stays on your roster until you swap him out.

Baseball Challenges
Every Challenge starts at 20 points. Answering is free; a wrong answer costs nothing.
Before first pitch
The pregame set is built the moment both lineups are in. You pick one Challenge per category in Place Challenges, then tap Lock.
- Who Will Win? Home or away, graded on the final score. It opens on its own, and no other pop-up appears until you answer it.
- Strikeouts (K): “Will [pitcher] have 5.5 K at end of game?” for each starting pitcher.
- Hits and Total Bases for each club’s three most expensive batters.
- Runs for each team.
Lines come from season averages and always end in .5, so there are no ties. Because baseball stats only go up, an Over settles the instant the line is crossed. An Under has to wait for the final out. These whole-game Challenges lose value as the game goes on, measured in outs (there’s no clock), down to 1 point by the end of the ninth.

Big Moment! · Bottom 8th
Crunch time! Does the home team tie it or take the lead this inning?
- Inning questions. At the start of every inning: “Will there be a run in the 3rd inning?” or “Will there be a home run in the 6th inning?” Yes settles the moment it happens; No when the inning ends. These don’t lose value.
- At-bats. Some at-bats get a 45-second question: will he get a hit, get an extra-base hit, walk (or get hit by a pitch), or make an out? At-bats by a team’s three most expensive starters can get one, and so can every third other at-bat. Yes carries the multiplier (×1.3 to make an out, ×3 for a hit, ×4 for a walk, ×6 for an extra-base hit) and No pays a flat 20.
- Big Moments. When the game hits one of four situations, a Big Moment pops up on the game screen with a 30-second window:
- Bases loaded: does the next batter drive in a run? A bases-loaded walk counts. Yes ×2.
- Runner on third, fewer than two outs: does the team score this inning? Yes ×1.5.
- Two outs, runners on: does the team still score this inning? Yes ×3.
- Eighth inning or later, batting team tied or down one, runners on: do they tie it or take the lead this inning? Yes ×3.5.
- Pacing. Per inning there’s at most one inning question, two at-bat questions and two Big Moments, and only one pop-up open at a time. An at-bat whose result is already known never gets a question, so there are no free wins.
Pop-ups only open while you’re on the game screen. Miss one and it’s gone, at no cost.
MLB scoring
Nothing a player does can cost you points: every category is zero or more. Points update live as each play posts.

A pitcher is scored on outs, strikeouts and the win. A starter who goes seven innings with eight strikeouts has 42 points from his outs and 80 from strikeouts before the win is counted, which is why the free pitcher slot matters so much.
An example night
You join an evening game a couple of hours early and wait for the lineups. Once both are posted, you take the home starter (free) and spend exactly 100 on five bats, then confirm. “Who Will Win?” pops up first and you take the home team. Then, in Place Challenges, you pick your pitcher Over 5.5 K and one Challenge each for Hits, Total Bases and Runs, and tap Lock. Each is worth 20 if you’re right.
In the first inning, an at-bat question pops up: “Will Reyes get a hit?” You tap Yes ×3. He grounds out, so that one pays nothing. In the fourth, the bases load with one out and a Big Moment pops up. You tap Yes ×2; a sac fly brings in the run and you win 40 points. In the sixth, your pitcher records his sixth strikeout, and his Over settles on the spot.
After the final out, BeThere waits for the complete play-by-play, settles the rest, and locks the standings. You check your result and collect your raffle tickets.
