FAQ

BeThere questions and answers

BeThere is a free live fantasy sports app for iPhone and Android, with no real money involved. Here’s what people ask before they download it.

What is BeThere?

BeThere is a free live fantasy sports app for iPhone and Android. You join one real game, draft a few of the players in it, and answer quick live predictions, called Challenges, while the game is played.

Your score is your players’ fantasy points plus the points you win on Challenges. Everyone in the same game shares one live leaderboard, and finishing a game earns raffle tickets for prize giveaways.

Is BeThere real money? Is it gambling?

No. BeThere is free-to-play fantasy sports, not gambling: there is no real money anywhere in the app. You never deposit, stake or withdraw anything, and points are a score, not a balance.

A Challenge costs nothing to answer. A right answer adds points and a wrong one adds nothing. The Terms describe BeThere’s contests as free to enter, with no purchase, payment or entry fee, and decided by skill and knowledge of sports. Prizes are merchandise-style items or discount offers and can’t be exchanged for cash. More on this: a free, no-real-money alternative to sports betting.

Is BeThere free to play?

Yes. BeThere is free to download and free to play, with no entry fees and nothing to buy in the app. No purchase is needed to earn raffle tickets or to enter a giveaway.

Which sports can I play on BeThere?

BeThere has MLB baseball and college football, each while its season is on. The Discover tab in the app lists every game you can join right now: games in progress, plus games starting over roughly the next week.

How do Challenges work?

A Challenge is a short question about the game you’re in, with fixed answers: over or under a number, yes or no, one team or the other, or, on a football drive, how the drive ends. You tap an answer and it locks. There are no edits, no cancels, and you can’t take both sides.

Some arrive as a set to pick from before you lock them in, like player stat lines for the first half. Others pop up in the moment and close fast: 45 seconds on a baseball at-bat, three minutes on a football drive. Whole-game and half-game questions, and football drive cards after their first minute, are worth less the longer you wait. Quick baseball pop-ups keep their value instead, and their long-shot answer carries a multiplier such as ×3 or ×6. Nobody grades them by hand: they settle from the live play-by-play, and you get a push notification when you win.

How is scoring calculated?

Your BeThere score is your roster’s fantasy points plus your Challenge winnings, minus any late-join or switchout penalty. It can’t go below zero, and no player stat takes points away.

In baseball, for example, a home run is worth 25 and a pitcher’s strikeout 10. In college football, a rushing touchdown is worth 6 and every 10 rushing yards is worth 1. Each sport page has the full table: MLB scoring and college football scoring.

What happens if I join a game late?

You can join a BeThere game that has already started, but you start from zero. Each player you draft only counts what they do after you confirm your roster, and the app shows that late-join penalty, player by player, before you confirm.

Every Challenge that’s still open is yours to answer. Whole-game ones will be worth less by then, but in-the-moment ones (each at-bat or drive) keep coming all game.

Can I change my roster during a game?

Yes. Before the game starts, swaps are free. Once it’s live you can swap as often as you like, and the only cost is a switchout penalty: the new player’s points from before the swap don’t count for you. The app previews the penalty before you confirm.

Can I play BeThere with friends?

Yes. Everyone who joins the same game is ranked on one live leaderboard, so the easiest way to play with friends is to join the same game. From inside a game you can invite friends to it.

You can also add friends by username, or send them an invite link or QR code from the app, and then see how you stack up against them.

Do I have to be at the stadium?

No. BeThere is built for fans at the game, but you can join from anywhere: in the stands, at a bar, or on the couch.

How do raffle tickets and prizes work?

When a BeThere game ends and you check your result, you collect raffle tickets. Everyone gets at least one, and a higher point tier earns more. You spend tickets in the Rewards tab to enter giveaways.

Per the Terms, prizes may be physical items such as merchandise, apparel or promotional items, or discounts and offers from participating businesses. They are non-transferable and can’t be redeemed for cash. Each ticket you spend is one entry, and winners are drawn at random from all entries. Entering a raffle can mean your email and username are sold to that prize’s sponsor, but only if you agree to it in the app and, on iPhone, allow tracking. You can decline and still enter every raffle and win. Details: Raffle Entry Data Sharing Consent.

Email support@betheresports.com with your business name, the prize and when you’d like it to run. A sponsored giveaway is listed in the app’s Rewards tab, fans enter it free with the raffle tickets they earn, and BeThere draws and notifies the winner. Prizes can be merchandise, apparel, promotional items or discount offers, never cash. You receive the email address and username of entrants who agree to share them. Details: sponsor a giveaway.

Who can play BeThere? Is there an age limit?

To play BeThere you must be at least 18 years old (19 or older in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 or older in Massachusetts) and a legal resident of the United States. Contests are void where prohibited by law. The full rules are in the Terms and Conditions.

What devices does BeThere work on?

BeThere is a mobile app for iPhone and Android phones. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

How do I get help or delete my account?

Email support@betheresports.com for help with BeThere. To delete your account, open the app and go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. The Help Center explains what deletion removes and the 14-day safety window.
